2008

show 56 The ILP featured a stellar line up of Debbie, Tyler, Housemate and Dave! What can’t Tyler eat with chop sticks returned for part 2, we talk about random things you can do with potatoes, give a guide to writing poetry to a loved one. More importantly there is future news, talk of Gorillas, confusion with the date and the conservation that has been put off for a long time…which member of Girls Aloud would you want to Shag. Find out which Debbie wants to go for. All this and some great tunes, what more could you want?

show 55We here at The ILP have decided to re-examine the output in order to determine that it was suitable and fit for broadcast. After long discussions we realised that the one thing lacking was alcohol at recordings and as a result all profanities are completely appropriate especially if used in a sexual manner. We are happy to say that this breach in confidence has been rectified. The ILP Show 55 is the result.  This week Dave, Tyler, Housemate, Debbie and a Shireen Cameo discuss graffiti in toilets, prank phone calls we’ve made in the past, Debbie’s trip to Paris, and find out what Tyler can’t eat with chopsticks, pirates, the winner of our donkey competition and much more. Along with an unrant and all your correspondence!

show 54In reaction to recent events the public was in uproar as to where the bounds of taste and decency lie. With this in mind we here at The ILP are proud to present our tasteless special, filled full of all the songs we had previously deemed inappropriate to play, including RATM, NOFX, Super Furry Animals, Fat Boy Slim, The Prodigy and of course where would we be without Blink 182 singing “We fucked your Mum” and The Camel Toe song. Present this week was Dave, Debbie and John were joined by Doctor Sam who made his debut and helped answer all those important medical questions, including “what’s the worse thing you’ve removed form someone’s orifice?” and how to remove peas form your nose. Another debut this show was Rachel who joined us on the phone live from Earls Court where in a Cheggers style we got her to do some crazy dares. Gavin provided us with a rant and there is all the usual features and randomness including a top ten of the most offensive songs of all time. It’s even enough to make our dear friend Voluptua blush and she’s been fisted!

show 53For Show 53 The ILP returned to its Brick Lane studios to record the second EVER Cook Off Or Fook Off. Tyler was once again pitted against our specialist expert chef, Susi, to see who could come up with the goods. There were many surprises thrown in to challenge the chefs and test their skills. Claudia returned to judge and we were joined by special guest Alison. Nicola took the reins and Shireen last but by no means least concluded the line up. We also tackled sleepwalking, circumcisions and many other fun topics which have now slipped my mind – pardon the expression. All this and the usual correspondence.

show 52The Credit Crunch finally hit The ILP which meant we decided to fire Tyler for a week-because he smells and there wasn’t enough pizza to go around. Also we should apologise for the sound quality of recent shows-it’s improved here but there are a few jumps and crackles. It’s a hardware fault which we are working to fix. So yes in this show we have some great music and much thought provoking chat. Dave reveals how he tried and failed to chop off his fingers, Debbie finds she ain’t quite as cool as she used to be and John surfs the internet. Along with all the usual features and randomness. Did we tell you the songs are really good! Oh yes we did…I’m going to resign from my position of promoting this now.

show 51It was difficult to try and top the pirate show but I think we did it. We created a sparkly jingle with bleeps and clicks and voices to confuse the senses and put you off balance for the rest for the show. This time, we find out about Debbie’s heroics, John talks about near death experience, find out about Dave’s “date” instigated by Tyler and Tyler…well he’s there. Dan returns for his film section and speaks about the London Film festival and about what you should be watching this year! Also is correspondence where we clear up Dave’s garbled misunderstanding of Jose’s message and have a few blasts form the past

show 50Wow we have finally reached Show 50 and who would have thought? Not I, especially after listening to the first few shows! Anyways it is time for ILP celebration as we reach this landmark. And what better way to celebrate than to do an International Speak Like A Pirate Day (which is this Friday 19th) special? So expect pirate jokes, songs puns and all the ILP kids doing our best to speak like a pirate! Also there is the usual random chat, your letters and a rant. Wow we have finally reached Show 50 and who would have thought? Not I, especially after listening to the first few shows! Anyways it is time for ILP celebration as we reach this landmark. And what better way to celebrate than to do an International Speak Like A Pirate Day (which is this Friday 19th) special? So expect pirate jokes, songs puns and all the ILP kids doing our best to speak like a pirate! Also there is the usual random chat, your letters and a rant.

show 49The ILP Show 49 nearly began in a similar way to Show 1 but with Shireen and Dan onboard we quickly escaped the board games and moved on to what really matters. This time we recorded at West India Quay where Shireen was Dragon Boat Racing. The show also includes second part of the second part of our Summer Season of Science special, with some mind reading and lots of Tequila and Anna! We finally feature the Cheese songs which have been on hold for a long, long time and there is an exclusive interview with the Smoke Fairies on a farm in Shadwell and of course we play their new song. In addition to this there is of course all the usual great music and come fun interviews with people we met whilst out recording which means its one tightly packed show!

show 48Our Second Summer Season of Science begins with recording once again on Leister Sq. This time Tyler and Chief Scientist James invited people to have a quick chat with Nicola in the name of science, but not before James had put Nicola back in her place after the failure at Cheese Fest. In the Studio, Tyler and Debbie explain why they have not been in the same show for so long! John, Dave and Shireen are also present chatting about Dyslexia, Animal sex habits, literally dropping acid, how to do well in exams and more. Along with some great songs form Ida Maria, Black Kids, Rage, Gracie Fields, Dolly Parton and a special request!

show47The ILP Show 47 comes live and direct from Cheese Fest 2008! Join Nicola, John, Debbie, Lilly and Producer Dave for extended coverage of this year’s event and come very cheesy music! They talk to the organisers, a Cheese Fest Protester, there is some cheese science, the case of the Frisbee stuck in the tree and we speak to lot’s of randoms who came in to join the fun. Additionally there are the usual features and nonsense!

show 46For the ILP Show 46 Dave’s dream finally came true and he was surrounded by women in sharp contrast to the masculine show 45 we decided to have a girly show. This fits in well with our Musical themed show were everyone picked songs from our fave musicals including Jerry Springer the Opera, Trapped in the Closet and Jay Z. With the onslaught of the girly show we talked about wedding dresses, presents for boyfriends and being staled on busses. Debbie tell us tales form Glastonbury and Jamie our Sports correspondent returns to tell us about Wimbledon. Nicola tells us how to make men lactate and learns what Metal, as in the music, is!

show 45Show 45 begins with just the men Tyler, Dave and John and once we realise that the show will not turn into an episode of Top Gear we take a sigh of relief and move on to John telling us about the cat Zeus and his fascination with used condoms and Dave has an update about his admirer. Shireen then comes to join us and we challenge her on everything from her new Russian flatmate, to rent to why she won’t marry Dave. John talks silent disco and we have a Cheese Fest update.

There is the rant and correspondence and all the usual randomness as well as music from At The Drive In, Ben Harper, Grandmaster Flash, Maximo Park and more.

show 44Tyler cancelled at the last minute so luckily Lili had already been booked to appear. Recorded outside on a beautiful summer’s eve the conservation was less beautiful. Find out the dramatic conclusion to the chocolate Labrador story, the reaction to the tube party, what Dave got up to when he visited Putney and all the usual conservation. No correspondence or rant because Tyler had it all…oh yes and play guess the theme.

show 43Tyler returns from Japan and this week it is Mr Scientist himself James’ turn to be off clocking up the carbon footprint this time in Canada and the US fulfilling The ILP’s ambitions to visit every corner of the glob this year. But fear not because before he went away we put Nicola in charge and recorded some very special Science. Back in the studio John, Dave, Tyler and Debbie are all back together for the first time since early March. Debbie tries to get a PR job promoting Girls Allowed and talks about her Camel Toe-which leads Dave to bring up ratemycameltoe.com We decided to join one of the circle line parties and give some dating survival tips. Tyler talks of Japan and John is a Trex, apparently. There is the usual correspondence and rant and we go off on one about how many countries Britain stole at one point.

show 42Debbie returns from Morocco and Tyler checks out as The ILP’s carbon footprint grows even more but hath no fear that Tyler is not here as Shireen jetted in from Hong Kong and we persuaded Lili to come back and join us! So in the studio we discussed how John lost his phone to a dancing mugger, Debbie played with her panties, we talk about how pleased we were that a Muppet was voted in as Mayor for London and Lili suggests a method to avoid the ban of drinking on the tube. Dave tries to discover the meaning behind the chocolate Labrador story and we end up talking about many different doodles and we return to advise from the book “Get over him, he just not that into you”. And of course we have the Oracle live! We also present our extra special cooking feature The ILP Cookoff or Fookoff! Tyler was pitted up against our new resident chef Susi to see who could cook up the best dish and win the support from our expert panel. Will Tyler repeat his previous menus of fun? Nicola hosts and throws in a surprise or two.

show 41Okay the hangovers that the Saung Song induced immediately after were not bur you can’t have everything. Well Dave had returned from Asia with some “rum” silliness was induced. Tyler and John were joined by newcomer Lili, who fitted straight into the team, and Dan, who was quiet and looked a bit bewildered outside of the film section-but boy did he deliver. So featuring tales from Asia, a ginger rant, John gives up smoking, ping pong balls, Debbie’s pants, some very funny listener letters, shout outs, and more attacks on Dave.

show 40This is the second show recorded without Dave and as a consequence many a pop shot was again taken but that’s not the selling point. Nicola once again joined the team and decided to take on presenter duties which made for some very effective first links but then the wine must have gotten to her as it did with everyone else. The Cheese song finally made it’s debut, the chocolate Labradors didn’t so Debbie said she would marry anyone who could tell us what the story was. Tyler arrived late and for the first time we had a song clash and John was there and then was not and returned again. There is talk of Skiing and hammers thrown through windows. Then finally we decided to set Dave up on mysinglefriend.com and we are not sure if he will like his description-it suits him tho but will he pull? Who knows? And to be fair most of you won’t really care. So listen in to some wicked music and fun before Dave returns to ruin it all and probably get his own back.

show 39  Dave is away this week and he has left us all alone to play with his toys! Almost inexplicably porn and fisting are discussed *more*! Whoda thunk it? We have Debbie discussing imminent unemployment, we all apply for jobs for Tyler, Annie gives us the lowdown on all things artistic in her theatre review and the ILP take full advantage of Dave not being present by interviewing his sister.

show 38The Reading Marathon Special - The date finally arrived and when it did Tyler and James both wondered why they had offered to be so kind and gat up at 6AM! Dave and Jamie started wondering why they signed up to do it! Yes this is the Reading Half marathon show. Featuring live commentary and a post run reflection from the whole ILP crew and a show packed full of songs tenuously linked to running! We also have a rant from Debbie, the usual correspondence, Zara makes a guest appearance, Dave realises once again that he is the only singleton on the show and we help Debbie desperately search for a career along with the usual randomness.

show 37Condensed seemed to be the word of the day and to be sure condensed it was! Stripped down to a core crew of Dave, Debbie and Tyler Dan made his debut appearance with our Film feature and Garry walked in halfway through as a special guest! Conservations cover why girls appear crazy after being dumped, psycho killers, non-correspondence, libraries, Free London Busses, discuss Glastonbury and a Rant about expensive bars!

show 36The 2008 Valentines Special - February 14th has come around again so this is the show for you if you are single and bitter, in a couple and looking for tips and to set a romantic or if you couldn’t care less. We play our favourite love songs, except Tyler who plays something bitter…Nicola talks about potential presents, although you might be insane to buy theses for a loved one, Debbie reveals Apple’s new iBreast and some interesting takes on Valentines Day, Tyler gives a guide to the unerogenous zones and Dave just complains about being single-shock! We also have an exclusive interview with the Crane Brothers another amazing upcoming band-this one is a gooden!

show 35Happy 2008 nearly a month late! Well who the hell cares because The ILP is back! And more soulful than EVER! Yes while you have been enjoying Christmas festivities, drinking through the New Year and completely broke in January we here at The ILP towers have been beavering away on the show and I’m sure you will be pleased with the results.

2007

show 34 The ILP Christmas Special 2007 - The ILP is proud to present our second Christmas Podcast featuring our first attempt at AmDram Cinderella. Join us for Christmas Day fun (yes I know it's a day late but the drinking got in the way of the editing, yadda yadda) where things go wrong as Tyler cooks and breaks himself. Debbie and John pad as Dave is inundated with phone calls. There are lots of other interesting things thrown in.

show 33'Tis the season to be jolly and 2007 is coming to an end but before all the festivities get under way and everyone begins reflecting on the we have an ILP show to keep you going. This show should have contained our new film segment but unfortunately due to reasons beyond our control it only half does. Also many of you may be wondering what happened to Nicolas Stigmata...well you find out here! Along with the usual correspondence and oracle although there is a lack of a rant...henny way the music rocks ENJOY!

show 32After the Stress of the Isle of Wight we decided to relax back at our main studio and reflect on events. No not the trip, that had long been forgotte but we recorded after the debacuary of Debbie’s 30th Birthday so all the memory gaps had to be dicussed. We finally took Debbie to the Dogs, used Yakety Sax to change the feel of speeches and talked about most embarrising drunken moments where Tyler shocking revelas how his teachers used to sell him booze at school. Along with all the usual corrispondence, an oricle question about crusficition, the dumbest thus far, and a rant about dooctors and drink.

show 31The Isle Of Wight OB Fireworks Special - For show 31 we decided to try something a little different. Although we slightly missed the boat we wanted to do something special for November 5th and decided to do science involving fireworks. To conduct this safely we needed to go to an uninhabited place….so we packed up all the equipment and traveled to the Isle of Wight for our first OB! It’s perhaps our biggest crew and the usual features are dropped to incorporate all the recording. We trekked to Dinosaur Isle, ventured into a “local” club, swam in the sea at night, interviewed a donkey, invaded a castle, traveled by sea and most importantly there was much randomness!

show 30Yes it's been a bit of a challenge and now that we are 30 maybe The ILP is starting to get over the hill....yes we've had several issues brining you this show which was ready on Monday but alas hat is all done and dusted so here it tis! So this time Dave, Tyler and Debbie are rejoined by Doug and a special guest Sheepy. Tyler proclaims he is Mr Fucked Off and is a miseable bastard throughout proceedings. So we talk hair, new fashion, Doug and Tyler try on Boots, Tyler has a new Animal Noise feature and we find new uses for the Benny Hill theme. For some reason Philip and Lady Di take a beating as wel as taste and decency. Yes we tell you how not to get sued and probably will get sued in the process.

show 29 – Unfortunately this show seems to have ascended-the cheeky bugger. It’s very unlikely that it will return in its previous form so tho of you lucky to bags it in time you might want to keep as it could be worth a pile of cash in some ears time. It might, however, not…who knoweths?

show 28The Harvest Festival Special - Another exciting show and exciting times for The ILP as we have lot's of fun things on the run up to Christmas BUT let's begin with today our first and more than likely last ever Harvest show! Dreamt up by Tyler who later quoted as "this is the worst festival ever"... That does not mean it is the worst show ever! There are lot's of tenuous Harvest related songs and a specially written never heard before song by Kerry the newest voice on The ILP. Debbie returns from her treck across remote places with some interesting tales. Jamie shows us all how to get into shape before the marathon. We launch an new competition and look into the history of harvest. Shireen our Oracle helps us solve the first riddle. John does some special cooking which Tyler refuses to eat and er there is the usual correspondence, rants and randomness.

show 27Well it’s that time again and yes The ILP Show 27 is out for you to listen to. Don’t all rush in at once tho as you might well crash the server. This show is perhaps our most random so far, and regular listeners will agree that is an achievement in itself! We moved to a new studio and everything when wrong with sickness, and travel and everything. Annie joins Dave, John, and Tyler, for some more cookery and the return of the rant…about the underground! There is some really good music, tho feel free to skip Tyler’s non summer song now out of context ;-) Thanks to all that have been listening as most of our shows are now over the 500 download mark and our 2006 Christmas special is now over 1000! Lot’s more exciting things planned for the future, with the return of Debbie, New and Improved Sport from Jamie, some EXPLOSIVE Science and the ILP WILL be hitting the road…so Ilse of White look out!

show 26The Summer Season of Science Special 2007 Part 2 - Our Summer season continues with more special science, this time “live” from Central London. We sent Tyler around to chat to girls using some very badly crafted accents which sparked some interesting reactions...it was very funny for us, perhaps not for Tyler. Our Debbie of the week, Jude, joins us in the studio and tells us about her horrific accident (which again is ammusing..heh;-). John gets Turkey wrapped, we rant about the shitness that was Field Day, talk about some other things and play lot's more summer songs!

show 25The Summer Season of Science Special 2007 Part 1 - The ILP Show 25 is out where we have two new voices to add to our growing clan. Debbie is away so Kim has come to play and as the first of our "Robo Debbies" (as Tyler puts it) fills her role perfectly. This our first extra special show in our two part Summer Science season and Nicola makes her debut. Also there is a science song which was especially written for the show! We tried to pick summer themed songs but as half the team forgot is a mixed mash of music. All the usual correspondence and stuff so hope you enjoy!

show 24The Debbie Special - Very briefly this is Show 24, which is a show all about Debbie before she heads off around the world for a month or two. Therefore we have Debbie based songs and Debbie based links...and as it wasn't really planned it is perhaps more random than usual with some laughing gas thrown in. Sorry about the sound quality but the problem has now (hopefully) been fixed-stay tuned for more surprises coming up in August with our "new" Debbie’s and our first (and more than likely last) science season ;-)

show 23As it hits July and the world seems to be falling apart, only to be held together with the gaffer tape left over from Live Earth (What the hell would we have done without that er...close call), The ILP is here to bring some sanity to proceedings. With pleasure we present Show 23 which features the usual and Jamie does some sport, Tim Tenyen gets a step closer to eurovision, we tackle some inportnant issues and Debbie tries to get a sneaky £100 out of Dave by investigating the Dave Goreman idea.

show 22Show 22 is now up and this time features a cheesey dream and Tim Tenyen update, Debbie tries to quit smoking and tells us about her trying to find herself. Our very own Freelance Scientists visited Cheese Fest and conducted Cheesy science, Tyler attemps to cook again, Dave sets a challenge to find other Dave Lortals, Doug had a run in with Will Young and we play some great music.

show 21

show 20

show 19

show 18The hottest day of the year perhaps and The ILP took to the garden and had an ill advised BBQ which covered us in smoke. We harassed the neighbours and this week Dave, Debbie, James and Tyler were joined by Helen and newbie’s Steph and Alice. James does some Psychological Science.

show 17Tyler was away time but we did manage to find him in the loo when we called him whilst he was “secretly” queuing for a PS3 and talked him into harassing some poor strangers. So with Dave, Debbie, John and Doug in the studio talk turns to Speed dating, Debbie being the XFM Gig Pig, there is a special Sport link with Jamie and Colin and all the usual features.

show 16This was dear Annie’s first show and things got of to the usual start with Annie reading gay Japanese Anime Porn that sent the porn bell a ringing. This was Tyler’s first and should have been his last attempt at “cooking”. Doug told us about his Seven Day eating challenge-he was not allowed to eat anything cooked and it had some adverse affects. We also talk about contraception inspired by Annie’s implant, Debbie reviewed Buttonhead and Chik Budo and we launched some lame ass competition.

show 15Recorded the morning after Dave’s retox party (he had been sober for six weeks), this probably wasn’t the best time we have ever planed to record a show. The first time the dictionary was featured to help us get some inspiration and a successful idea that turned out to be! Science returned for some explosive fun! We receive a phone call from Shireen, Tyler tries to give away all his crap, we play 2 questions and Tyler bitches about not being able to make noise in Harrods. What could have been a hung over disaster turned into a hair of the dog success, helped by further drinking…

show 14  The Valentines Show 2007 - Valentines Special 2007 – For the 14th Show it was Valentines Day Doug’s birthday and Pizza time! We talk about an email sent by Genki, kidz too kool for skool at the Ass Now gig, and Lisa wins the competition. Jamie joins us for some Sport, we invited the neighbours around and then scared the living shit out of them and the Doug came back and we had a very special birthday link. All the songs are love themed so enjoy!

show 13It’s the first show of 2007 and The ILP is fresh from it’s Winter break ready to bring smut and stupid comments to your ears. John tries out his new feature “Common Sense”, and we discuss an email sent from D who was harassed by a sexy 40 yr old. We discuss the time off, Dave reveals he is not drinking and it all goes wrong from there.

 2006

show 12  – Christmas show

show 11

show 10The ILP Musical Special 2006 - The ILP went all musical for show 10 with each song being a classic chosen from a well known musical. Okay that might not be true but make sure you listen to the end where there is a rather interesting cover of “My Favourite Things”. This show also brought you our first Science experiment as James (Housemate) returned to shower Tyler in Diet Coke unbeknown to him. Debbie reviews some excellent bands which are well worth checking out and we cover the usual correspondence and Tyler rants about bitchy office emails. Oh and it was Debbie’s birthday of course!

show 9This was the show that nearly never was. We recorded a whole show only for it to be gone in one swift technical error! The horror! So luckily everyone was god natured and we recorded it word for word-well we would have done if we remembered any of it but fun packed was the pre-record none the less! There is lot’s of masturbation talk, star readings; we talk Cedars, Correspondence which involves prostitutes, beastality and David Hasselhoff. Oh yes and stickers! Lot’s of stickers. Debbie tells a story of how she was nearly mugged which brings up the subject of self defence. You will never er have to fear an attacker again. Jamie is present for more sport and John launches a new competition.

show 8With everyone back together in the same room again there is much confusion. Everything turns to porn as Debbie talks about getting arrested in a strip club and John heroically escapes death from a fire in Whitechapel. We talk potential Olympic sports, Debbie plots to take over the world, Tyler gets confused, John rant about Madonna and we try and unsuccessfully get celebrities to come and join us. For the first time we hear form Shireen in a special link recorded form Hong Kong.

show 7This show is perhaps the most presenters heavy and least structured of the early ones-which says a lot but you will understand when we get into it. It starts with Tyler doing a song which we couldn’t cut any more if we tried and the Dave and Colin do some singing. Tyler couldn’t make the main recording so Dave, Debbie and John talk about hand reading which John learn’t from a guy down the pub. In like two we are joined by Sarah and Yas for the first and last time-they were old student radio friends of Dave’s and they have some fun stories to tell. So on to Link 3 with Tyler and James made his debut as we crashed his room to record. Then it’s back to Debbie and John and yes this is all mightily confusing-that’s why we never did it again. A show full of laughs and great music!

show 6This was the first show that set The ILP on it’s current format. We moved John and Debbie closer to the mics, rather than having them in the background, and the rest quite frankly is history. We announce that The ILP is to move on to it’s second studio (and now it’s been brought from so many locations it’s pointless to mention it). We talk about our rivals and challenge JK and Joel, there is talk of the festivals that we have been to over the summer, we talk Ginger, people with STI’s and this is where the first stickers arrived all packed into 3 links. Oh yes this was the last show with 3 links.

show 5We liked Debbie so much we decided to ask her back for a second visit and totally randomly John appeared. We sat them on the sofa whilst Tyler and I hogged the mics. They both however proved to be so good that we shared the mics for the next show and they had equal billing form them on. Dave still can’t say the word rant, we talk Baseball, there is Burger talk and mixing of Ketchup and Mayo, we fulfil Irish Sarah’s request and much more. Jamie talks Sport and we find out where he has been!

show 4This is Debbies first appearance as our Special Music correspondent, to be fair didn’t last long as she was so good we bumped her up to top billing and there she has stayed. So along with music chat there is job interview talk, foot scrapers, we try and talk like emo kids, and get very serious about The Middle East.

show 3Stuart came to the studio for what was to be his last show for The ILP (although he has done things for us since) and Jamie returned to do some sport. We talk about the letters we managed to get into the Metro, we reveal the winners of the competition that was launched and return to Jaded lovers, and there is then a very painful rap which was set by Joya one of our listeners. Dave then talks about getting mugged and it’s obvious The ILP started in a bad place which has long been left behind.

show 2Well this is where it all began with a Be Your Own Pet Track and Tyler doing a crap American accent. This was a geek fest of a show with us talking role playing, Stuart talking computers and the Battlestar Galatica theme. We ponder the World Cup selections, and basically talk about what we are going to do and take the podcast. Really the only thing that we did actually end up doing was having lots of presenters. This is a short show as we had humble beginnings-to be honest it’s best to skip these and start with Show 6.
